This picture is perfect. January 23, 2025 we celebrated 54 years of marriage! We were high school sweethearts, so puppy love, first kiss, hug me, and True Love For Ever all have special meanings for us.
We graduated from Seminole High School in 1967. We’d decided to go our own way at Texas Tech in Lubbock, Texas, to make sure we were meant to be together always.
Four years later, Lubbock was partially destroyed by a tornado. That’s when we got back together. He’d survived and that was enough proof that we were meant to spend our lives together.
We were married January 23, 1971.
Yesterday, he gave me a Valentine that made me cry with happiness. I want to share it with all of you.
What is real love?
It’s hurried hugs on our way out the door
or texting each other in the middle of a busy day.
It’s Saturdays around the house, getting things done.
It’s making things up as we go
and finding stuff to laugh about
even in tough times.
It’s being best friends, no matter what life brings…
in the great moments and the messy ones, too.
Real love is going through all the ups and downs of life together
and still feeling that spark.
And I do.
Always will.
Made me cry again.
I hope you’ve felt real love, too.
Hugs and Happiness,
Linda
He is a keeper, but I think you have already worked this out.
